This is an example of a logo that I had to create to represent a Manhattan property that was up for lease. The logo would be used on the promotional flyer, as well as on signs going up around the area and in the windows advertising its availability.
When deciding on a font or fonts to use for a text logo, I often write out the address several times in some of the options I am considering to see how the letters interact with one another. In this case, I knew the address was located in the SoHo area, so I made a mood board with area photos as well so I could keep in mind what was being represented with the logo. These are the initial fonts I tested out.
After trying these typefaces, I then started pairing them together with the numbers in different combinations to decide which ones look the best. I was looking for interesting interactions between the shapes of the letters and numbers. At this stage is also when I start hand-kerning the letters within the words.
I ended up going with the below logo style and adding the tagline which was requested by the broker later into the process. It was sent to all stakeholders for review and was approved!
